Peculiar

Unexpected things happen in life, don't they? I suppose the most memorable and unforgettable experience was the third and final School Based Experience (SBE). Never in a million years did I think I would experience this in my life. I was terrified, stunned, uneasy, and shivering all over. Before I continue with the "peculiar yet unexpected" part of my life, let me begin by helping you picture how it all began.   We were informed just a few weeks before the SBE that the date had changed owing to a few circumstances, and other than the word "Yes," I was at a loss for words. Similar to how SBE was previously established, choosing the school, getting in touch with the administrator, attending a briefing, and mailing letters are among the initial steps.   I was aware of the school's location, but I couldn't resist the urge to visit and see it for myself. Therefore, Christhilda, Emmelyn, and I made the decision to visit the school the day before to simply take...

Abandoned

“Sofia! Do not leave me! Sofia, please." I still remember nothing else other than that. That was the most awful choice I have ever made. The moment I step my foot out of the house to go after my dream of becoming a content creator, I hear my selfless, kindhearted mother sobbing, crying, and pleading.   Mum never says no to my dreams, but the moment I started telling her that our home and neighbourhood were simply too ugly to be a part of my contents was the one that really upset her. Given that that house had been my only place of safety since birth, how could I say that to her? Oh, God! How unappreciative and cruel I was at the time.   The fact that I realised how much I had hurt my mother could have been one of the major factors why content creator is not my cup of tea anymore and I have never been successful as a content creator. Second, I see this as karma—a form of punishments for being an unappreciative and disobedient child ...

Educational Trip to Educate the Heart

Hey! The most awaited day has arrived. Since we will leave the campus at around 6:30, I got up earlier than usual. As I'll be leaving directly after the programme, I made my bed, cleaned it up, and packed a few clothing. Before boarding the bus, my fellow TESL-ians and I ate breakfast that had been specially prepared and sponsored by the cafĂ©.  The blind centre is where we are going to start. While we waited for the manager of the blind centre to open the gate for us, we captured some pictures together. The floor was first swept before a handful of my pals began mopping it and splashing water on it. The two uncles' hair was trimmed by our lecturer, Madam Felicita, who brought her own electric hair trimmer. I had no idea she could cut hair so well. Not gonna lie but several of us burst into tears as soon as they saw them. Only two blind men resided in the centre as the rest remained outside to work. One of the uncles expressed his desire to return home but complained ...

Sunglasses in the Invisible Land of Ayscough

A terrible disease adversely affected the city. Everyone was in shock, and it caused shivers to run down their spines. The cars were nowhere to be seen, the doors were closed, and the windows were tightly shut. The once-bustling, hectic, and lively city is now so quiet that one could have heard a pin drop throughout the entire city. Our city, the Invisible Land of Ayscough , is being badly damaged by an infection that no one has seen in thousands of years. It all started when a group of farmers turned their faces directly toward the sun in the midst of the day. One of the farmers, Rain, had to rub his eyes continuously for hours as they began turning red due to the sun's intense sunlight that day. Later, as the farmers began to rub their eyes until they turned red, the disease began to spread among them. A short while later, the other farmers and Rain all passed out in the middle of the field. They were taken to the hospital, but half of them, including Rain, couldn't make due ...
